A public edit

Hello.

I was able to have a professional photo session in January, and I love how the photos turned out.

I mean, LOOK at me! I generally, top out at “cute as hell” on most attractive scales, but I look HAWT here!

Since that time, my eczema has flared up mercilessly. It’s all over my torso and now it’s on the side of my neck. It’s itchy, it burns, and I’m not happy about it heading towards my face.

I first had eczema around 2001, when a tiny spot appeared on my shin. I generally had a few flare ups on my shins/calves, and rarely, (thank goodness) on my hands.

This most recent flare up has been on my lower back, and the sides of my torso, which makes it ferociously painful at the waistband of my pants, and at my bra strap.

I finally have a Dr. appointment next Wednesday, where I hope to be referred to a Gastrointerologist and a Dermatologist for my problems in both of these areas.

I’m tough, so I’ll make it, but sometimes I get tired of being tough.

My Partner takes exquisite care of me on the weekends, when I stay with him, but there isn’t much to be done until I can receive medical treatment.

I have superb (for the United States) health insurance through my employer, but it can still be an ordeal.

Wish me well, will ya?

Social media break.

I’ve been on Facebook for a very long time. Since 2013? 2011? Something like that.

Recently, my Facebook use has gotten a bit excessive. As in, scrolling on Facebook has become an unacceptable time-suck in my life.

I am connected with far-flung family and friends through FB, as I have lived all over the country, and so do my friends and family, so I don’t plan to quit it completely, but I haven’t been on for over a week and the lack of daily scrolling sessions has not been in the least unbearable.

After this past week of total blackout, I’ll likely go back on sometime this weekend, but I will avail myself upon the scheduling software available to assist me in establishing/keeping limits on my use.

My Facebook habits have been causing issues in my most important personal relationship and I will never let a computer program get between me and real-life Human Interactions.

This I swear.

A walk ends badly…

I spent another wonderful weekend with my Love in Woodbridge.

Earlier today, we went for a walk at Lodi Lake Park, where we usually ride our bikes.

Lodi Lake

We walked past the lake, and walked the loop through the nature preserve.

Flowers by the lake
Trees at the beginning of the nature trail.

It was pretty warm, but we saw the deer and squirrels galore.

He is my heart.

On our way back, past the playground, there were many people along the lake side, and right when we passed, not 10 feet from us, a man pulled a limp, maybe 2yo, boy from the water.

I think the sight will haunt me for a long time. It was truly awful.

Matt and I both called 911, but Matt’s call was better as he has a local number (I still use my old Fresno number). Emergency dispatch had him stand right next to the baby, as folks were performing CPR so that his location could be tracked.

Emergency vehicles arrived and took the baby right away in the ambulance.

After we got home, Matt found an online news article, stating that the baby boy had died.

Jaylen

I am bereft.

Happy Weekending!

So, I am in Woodbridge with my heart.

You can’t see my long ponytail from here…

I woke up with enough time for coffee with Emily before work, and I have not regretted the “loss of sleep” inherent in waking up earlier for this.

That face tho!

Work was grand. I stayed busy enough for time to fly by…

I’m up to “O” in my shifting and things are going great.

See you on Monday morning, JFK.

I fell asleep in the arms of my love, and today I am as lazy as one can be on a single day off.

I’ll do laundry tho…

…clean clothes accomplished. We had pizza for dinner, and I’ll drive home after Zoe.

On the Road..

…made it home to my Emily.

She missed me. I know because she purrs so loud when I get home, I call her “My Motorhead”

It’s time for sleep. Another week in the library for me…

Goodnight, y’all.

Fri-yay?

If one works on Saturday, should one celebrate Friday?

It’s all good. Today has been a nice, pretty, day. I’m all the way to the “M” section in my shifting project, and it’s so calming for me.

To make order from chaos warms my Librarian heart.

I’ll drive to Woodbridge tomorrow after work to spend one precious day with my love.

Matt & Nancy
2019

I adore this man.

Goodnight, y’all.

Oscar Sunday

Woke after a great night’s sleep, to fresh coffee and a turkey, fried egg, and cheese sammich, made by my love.

He is an excellent cook. I think it’s genetic, both of Matt’s daughters (Kelly & Megan) are incredible cooks as well.

The blossom on one of my succulents
Freshly washed hair – I’m seriously considering a haircut.

Watched the Oscar’s and I’m glad that John Baptiste and H.E.R. won.

Goodnight.

The Day After The Jab

Received my 2nd Covid-19 vaccination yesterday, and took today off work to recuperate.

I slept for more than 10 hours last night, but that’s not unusual for me, as I always sleep better/longer at Matt’s place.

Despite sleeping that long, I’ve felt tired and muscle achy today. I think some of that is from shifting the entire Mystery section, then starting on Adult Fiction, over the past 2 days.

Last night we got tacos at LA Picosita and this is what the moon looked like:

New camera phone goodness.
I think I took this one while Matt took a flash photo with his iPhone.

I’m full as a tick right now. We picked up Asian food at a local place in Lodi, Shangri La. Shared pan fried noodles, crab rangoon, and an unagi caterpillar roll. YUM! 😋

There are new neighbors moving in across the street. They haven’t unpacked yet but they hung this flag at the peak of their garage roof:

Originally a George Washington era battle flag, now represents xtian nationalism/xtian dominionism.

Well, yee-haw.

On the NEW phone…

After a trip to the AT&T store, and a new sim card, my new hotness is working beautifully.

The next time I get a new phone, I will go directly to a store and have them set it all up. I did that at Best Buy when I bought my last 2 phones, and they just switched everything for me.

I can do/learn to do most anything. I also know when I need to ask for assistance.

La Picosita. Best Taco Truck in Lodi

We went for tacos last night. Tacos Supreme Al Pastor. 🌮

Today, after we watched the closing arguments of the Derek Chauvin trial, we went to visit Matt’s friend, Robert’s place.

Robert has an unnamed little kitty who has been the “truck tire” cat, as she sits on the truck tire of the truck that is usually parked in the garage.

She needs a name.
She truly is sweet…
She’s waiting for her truck to come back.

Facebook memories reminded me that 2 years ago today, I said goodbye to my Hobbitses: Merry & Pippin.

My Bois

I find that I don’t feel sad, thinking about my babies, because we spent 12 stellar years together.

I loved them and they loved me and we had a dozen years of love.

They were my beautiful boys.

Meriadoc Brandybuck, aka: Merry

Have a great night…

New phone, who dis?

Received my new phone yesterday, and have been transferring my information from my old S8 to my new S21.

Since I use my phone so much, there are a huge number of things to be transferred. It’s mostly a case of having to remember way too many passwords.

The new cameras are pretty impressive on the new hottness.

This succulent was purchased from Costco about 3 years ago. It’s blooming!

It’s so nice outside, We’re gonna either go for a bike ride or wash our cars…Shelley sure needs it!

More later!
