Acquisitions:

I took my bestie, Judy, the Point Richmond city yard sale on Monday and we had a BLAST!

Among other adventures, we met, and bought these treasures from, the stamp lady…

I have many stamps that I want to use more in my art…now including these.

And then I received my stencil order from joggles.com today…

YAY!!!

Livin’ la vida stencil, y’all!

Also, I’m now working on a spread using a Peaky Blinders quote:

“Everyone’s a whore…we just sell different parts of ourselves.”
– Tommy Shelby

And THEN…I received another postcard!

From Canada!

Art Rules!

Spring 2018 Postcards for me…

I’ve received 6 postcards to date through iHanna’s Spring Swap

The first was from my dear friend Sarah Lee (we work together and she is AWESOME!) and I don’t know that I would have been able to keep it a secret like she did! She just happened to have made a coffee card, and so she knew instinctively that it was for me…

Sarah Lee is all over the interwebs (it seems to me, but I’m wildly interested in the art she makes, so…) so DarkTreeHouse is on Twitter and on Facebook for your viewing pleasure…

The second card to arrive came from Orange County, CA…

These colors just get me…

3rd came all the way from France. It came inside an envelope, which is a bit odd for a postcard, but whatever works, I say….

I’m generally impressed with sewing on paper (maybe I’ll work up the guts to try this technique someday…)

The fourth card came from Australia:

Simple and fun. LOVE the colors, tho!

And 5 & 6 are both from the states…

I’m gonna play with this scribble on black style…

And all of this layering, from the canvas-type paper to the perfect, die-cut crab are YUMMY!

I do hope to receive a couple more, but it’s not always an even 10 for 10 card swap, although it’s set up to be so.

I totally understand that life and the USPS are works in progress…

I’ll show ya’ll what I’ve done with the cards I’ve received over the past couple of years…I’ll make ya famous…

Edited 5/24/18:

Got another card in today’s post, from Illinois:

It was in an envelope, but with that subtle texture and hand-stitching, I understand…

That’s all for now…

April showers…

I spent 2 Saturdays mornings in April at the same place: Moschetti’s

It’s a local coffee roaster that has free coffee tastings every good Saturday, and Such. Great. Coffee.

It’s a great place to meet up with other local folks, maybe check out some art & crafts from vendors…

For me, it’s a great place to hang out, and ART my face off!

I’m working on Journal 52 2018 (I’m always behind, but I do like the prompts fromEffy for J52)…

I’m currently finishing up my postcards for iHanna’s Spring swap

These are this year’s models…extra long cards and a set of kid’s stencils got me started this year…

I played with paint…at the time, EVERYBODY was just pie-eyed about quinacridone nickel azo gold, so…

I had fun with more washi tape than any one person will ever need…really…

And gel pens…

And paint pens…

Pitt brush pens…

Magazine clippings…

Ink…

More gel pens…

Time & travel…

And a TINY bit of attitude…

I’m sending these in tomorrow’s mail…2 for Canada, one for Denmark, and the rest in the states, but none in California (where I am).

Truly, iHanna is GOOD…
